Norseman Distillery announces an OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS for three distinct art opportunities this fall. Each exhibition project comes with the exciting opportunity of cash prizes, exposure, and bragging rights. Artists may opt to submit for a single opportunity or may choose to apply for all three. These opportunities include a Mural Contest, Juried Fall Art Show, & Halloween Costume Contest.

Norseman Distillery has proud ties to the arts community and loves to promote and highlight the creative talents of those in our community whenever possible.

Mural Contest: If you have been to Norseman Distillery, chances are you noticed the giant rotating seasonal murals behind the bar. The talented team at Impulse Creative has been responsible for all the previous epic murals on the bar’s back wall the last few years. With the out of state move of Impulse Creative’s founder and director, Norseman Distillery is on the hunt for fresh local talent! This is where you come in. Calling all muralists in Minnesota. We are accepting design submissions now through September 13th. Winners will be selected and notified by Sept 17th. The winning artist will have roughly 1 week to complete mural and all painting must be completed during off hours. The finished mural will be presented to the public on Sept 24th and will remain on display through December. Winner receives $1,000

juried group art show

Fall Art Show Competition: We are accepting art submissions in *any medium for a group art show/contest with themes of “Fall” “Halloween” and “Harvest” Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. Sculpture, painted artificial pumpkins, and other 3-D art will also be considered. *Perishable mediums will not be considered. Pieces should be at least 10 x 10 and shall not exceed a 72” x 40” space. Up to 20 local artists will be selected to compete and be on display. Pieces will be shown at Norseman 10/1/19 - 11/5/19. Artwork will be judged by a panel and winners announced live on October 31st. Artists are permitted to sell their displayed work and will receive 100% of their profit for any purchased work. Sold works must remain on display through the end of the show.

Costume Contest: Seeking the best of the best! Calling all costume designers, fashion designers, makeup artists, special effects developers, and other creative folks to enter our costume contest for Halloween. Event date: November 2nd • Judging occurs 8p-9p • winner announced at 9:30p.

For consideration costumes must be worn to the Distillery and contestants must sign up in person and be present for the awards on 11.2.2019 (contest entry/awards 8p-9:30).

Note: We will have a panel of local judges who are leaders in the fashion, costume, pop culture, and lifestyle scene. There will be winners for the following 6 categories: Critics Choice award, Public Choice Award, Most Creative, Scariest, Funniest, and Best Couples Costume. Cash prizes of $200, Gift Certificates, and Swag will be awarded accordingly.


HOLIDAY MARKET 11.22.19 - 11.24.19

Norseman will be collaborating with our neighbors in the 2010 Artblok building to host part of the annual holiday market event. Details coming soon.
