GBP 16.0: Alexis VanNieuwenhze

Alexis VanNieuwenhze is a bartender at The Silver Dollar, a nationally recognized bourbon bar and restaurant in Louisville, KY. Over the course of her four years behind the stick, she has earned an Executive Bourbon Steward certificate through Stave and Thief Society and a Bourbon Country Institute certificate from bourbon historian and author, Michael Veach.

We met Alexis last year when part of the Norseman team travelled down to Louisville. We were instantly enamored with her charisma, creativity, and southern charm. We are excited to welcome her up north to share her charm and talent with our friends in the Twin Cities.

Alexis describes her guest bartender menu by saying, "As a lover of all things true crime, I wanted to create cocktails based on infamous serial killers. All drinks will be the first name of the killer who inspired the drink and each drink comes with an interactive collectable token, just as killers take or leave tokens at the crime scene, each drink will leave one too."

Our Guest Bartender Program (GBP) here at Norseman has been a showcase of local talents who have influenced our palate, our style of service and/or our appreciation for unique curiosities. We have so much love and appreciation for the community of bartenders here in the North as well as those that inspire us from across the country. These people are the folks pushing boundaries and blazing new paths of creative distinction in cocktailing on a daily basis, making the Twin Cities a destination for visitors and locals alike interested in great drinks.

The GBP ranges from a collaborative new face helping us launch new menus all the way into a full-on menu takeover for a single day event. Join us for this three-day collaborative menu and taste through all the creations by Alexis VanNieuwenhze.
