Our Guest Bartender Program (GBP) here at Norseman has been a showcase of local talents who have influenced our palate, our style of service and/or our appreciation for unique curiosities. We have so much love and appreciation for the community of bartenders here in the North. These people are the folks pushing boundaries and blazing new paths of creative distinction in cocktailing on a daily basis, making the Twin Cities a destination for visitors and locals alike interested in great drinks.
The GBP ranges from a collaborative new face helping us launch new menus all the way into a full-on menu takeover for a single evening event. In the instance of Adam Gorski's GBP 11.0, we’re very excited to preview some cocktails from both Young Joni's and Norseman's new menus launching next month!
Adam is very near and dear to us at Norseman. He runs the beverage program and back bar, right down the street at Young Joni. He developed his palate at Bradstreet (when it was in the Graves) and Eat Street Social after which he ran the program at La Belle Vie before moving on to Young Joni. Across the board he’s one of the nicest guys in town, he shares an appreciation for nick knacks (as well as all wildly cute things) but above all, he works to remove pretentiousness and stuffiness from an industry that sometimes forgets that it is truly all about having a really great time and finding new experiences.
Join us for this one-night collaborative menu featuring menu items such as:
A very fun Rum Last Word variant highlighting Turmeric and the cutest fruit (pineapple)
Maybe the coolest Long Island variant we’ve seen.
“The funny thing is I’ve never worked in a bar that these get called for.. So I’ve always made it differently. This one uses a tea that I’m really excited about, it’s like the flavors of Coca Cola and root beer together," Adam Gorski.
Lapsang Souchong is a really cool super-smokey tea. We’ve essentially used this to boost a Negroni to almost mimic a flavor of scotch or a fine mezcal.
Lady of London (LOL) Sometimes we really like to make fun of ourselves. The Lady of London is a play on two very iconic cocktails from Marvel Bar (Keith Mrotek’s previous tenure) The Ladykiller was comprised by Pip Hanson who started the beverage program at Marvel, and the London Bridge was created by Tyler Kleinow and is Keith’s favorite cocktail on the Marvel menu.
